Weird things about me, my pet peeves, and things I love

I remember phone numbers and birthdays. I don’t know how or why, but I do. My phone number when I was eight was 744.0814. Our number in Germany was 06533 4483. I count steps and stairs, and I don’t realize I am doing it until someone asks me a question and I lose count. There are 58 stairs leading up to the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C. There are 17 stairs in my apartment. I know this because I count them everyday coming and going. Quynh has 17 stairs also. I prefer the mountains to the beach, but I am terrified of heights! There is only one thing I fear, and that is fire. I don’t fear heights I’m terrified of them.

My spices are in alphabetic order, and my canned goods are stacked two high, labels facing the front in alphabetic order. Toilet paper has to go over the top, and I will change it in your house if it is not that way. I prefer silence to noise. I keep a tube of Carmex with me 24/7. I won’t pay someone to do something for me that I can do myself. I have learned to do a lot of things because of this. I scream like a girl when I see a cockroach. My sense of direction is horrible, and I get turned around easily. I love maps! You will usually see me with a piece of gum in my mouth. I eat salmon for breakfast.

I love the sound of a distant train. The smell of fresh-cut grass. A babies laugh. The first smile of the day. The first laugh of the day. A happy song. Seeing my boys smile. Making people laugh. Waking up before the birds do. The way cold air smells. A winding road. Rosy cheeks in the winter. The smell of the ocean. Mud between my toes. The way the air smells after a rain. The color green. Dogs. Driving. Catching up with old friends. Classical music. Books that I can learn from. Numbers. Taking stupid pictures. Learning anything. The smell of wood burning. The sound of leaves crunching under my feet. Clouds. The smell of dirt. Cold water. The way my china cabinet smells. Cookbooks. Rain. Hearing the bullfrogs at night. Clean sheets. My bed.

I could keep going, but I think that gives you a little idea as to who I am.

This is my journey…

That is funny! Did you keep that green blouse I gave you – or throw it away?
